Introduction to Breastfeeding: a BOOBS antenatal session

Our Introduction to Breastfeeding antenatal session is recommended for people who are pregnant from babies’ gestation age of 28 weeks+.

In groups of up to 8 attendees, clients will receive bespoke information, support and confidence building about the basics of attachment and positioning at the breast, antenatal colostrum harvesting, what to expect in the first 5 days following birth of baby, and more.

This session takes place in person at a BOOBS Approved venue, St Paul’s Church, Moor Lane, Salford, M7 3WX. Our sessions are free of charge thanks to anyone who has purchased a B.O.O.B.S Membership Card! (You can purchase yours here)

Our course facilitator, Kerry, is a trained Breastfeeding Peer Supporter who particularly loves this aspect of her work and will make you feel immediately at ease and no question is too silly.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

"Kerry has been an absolute lifeline to me as I have started my breastfeeding journey. We first met during an antenatal breastfeeding group in which helpful knowledge was shared to understand breastfeeding and skills demonstrated so we were informed in advance of what was required. Kerry has provided so much support and adapted this during a difficult time so I could access it when having an unpredictable newborn and being sleep deprived. She provides so much helpful information, links to things, connections with other Mum’s. She makes me feel much less alone with it all. I can’t imagine what I would have done without her."

I attended the antenatal class as a second time mum for a bit of a refresher to breastfeeding and to have more support in place this time. The sessions were great as only a small group and Kerry was so knowledgeable and reassuring. It didn't take long for my confidence to be boosted and to feel prepared to embark on my second breastfeeding journey.

Upon the birth of my daughter, Kerry reached out and was able to provide me with 1:1 in person support. Kerry was also on hand to offer advice in the early days which was invaluable.
